A Tender Hope, Cimarron Creek Trilogy, #3. It is a stand alone novel. I think it's a charming book, the characters are mostly like-able. It's easy to immerse yourself into the story. I highly recommend it.

Thea Michener is a widow who is a midwife, decides to leave Ladreville, Texas, with her friend Aimee using her beloved horse Maggie and buggy. They are moving just little ways away, to Cimarron Creek, Texas-where Thea has been hired as the town's midwife.
Thea is a recent widow and she's ready to throw off her black mourning clothes forever. She will wear colorful dresses to homes where she will assist with births. Thea is given a very nice home, that has five bedrooms in Cimarron Creek, where she and Aimee will live.
Aimee is a transplant from France. She is looking for her mother. She knows she was born in Ladreville, and that her mother had moved to Cimarron Creek. She was adopted. Her adopted parents did not tell her she was adopted, she found out after they died, in some papers they had.
Jackson is a Texas Ranger who is on an under-cover on a robbery case, that has led him to Cimarron Creek.
All three of them descend on Cimarron Creek, Texas in 1881. Read the book and find out where their lives take them.
