Refusing to enter into an arranged marriage with Lord Lathrop, whom she has never met, Lady Lucy Powell pursues a career as a writer of gothic romances and falls in love with secretive scoundrel... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Sara Blayne can write a GREAT story. This is one of them. Lucy is the spirited eldest sister of the Powell family. She is determined to marry for true love or not at all. When she learns her neighbor, the Duke of Lathrop, is coming to call on her she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with a man who would marry only to beget an heir. Before the Duke's visit she meets Phillip Carmichael and there begins the romance. Their love and friendship grows until Lucy is lost in it. But why does Phillip keep encouraging her to accept the Duke's anticipated proposal? This is a wonderful book. You will be hard-pressed to put it down until you've reached the end.
Quite intriguing!

Overall i enjoyed this book. The author has a great talent for keeping her readers on the edge of their seats. What I loved about this book was that there weren't any graphic sexual scenes to ruin the effect of the book. The love story was more effective with the hint of the desires that they felt, rather than the graphic details.
