Was she in the right place at the wrong time? Cressida had lost her parents and badly needed a new focus. So going to Holland to help an elderly Dutch doctor with a book he was writing, giving up her own nursing job for a while, seemed ideal. Her new employer had two partners. One was elderly and friendly, like himself, while the other was younger and...not quite so friendly. Giles van der Tiele always seemed to be snubbing Cressida, putting her in her place. But when he wanted to, he could be extremely charming--too much so for her peace of mind
This is a typical BN's story with the wealthy and gifted Dutch doctor and beautiful British nurse, but it is not one of my favorites. Even until the end I didn't feel that Giles loved our foolish Cressida. The misunderstandings started practically at the first page and just stretched out through the entire story. One of the other reviewers said it was one of BN's better stories, and while I don't agree, it just goes to show she has something for any romance lover.
Another amazing story!

This is another winner from Ms Neels. This, for me, is one of Ms Neels better stories. Loved the interaction between H/H and how Giles stopped at nothing to help Cressida, even though she thought him a spoiled doctor, living on his laurels and taking advantage of his poor, overworked, old partners. (big grin here) One gripe: For God sake, what is wrong with THAT man? Couldn't he just tell the poor girl he loves her... AAH, right, this is a BN book so she has to be emotionally tortured a little more, before this happened:) Okay, I'm addicted to BN books! SO THERE!! And it is a sweet and wonderful tale.
She is Determined to Believe the Worse... (4.5 stars)

Book Description: WAS SHE IN THE RGHT PLACE - AT THE WRONG TIME...? Cressida had lost her parents, and badly needed a new focus. It seemed ideal, going to Holland to help an elderly Dutch doctor write a book he was writing, giving up her own nursing job for a while. Her new employer had two partners: one was elderly and friendly like himself; the other was younger, and ... not quite so friendly! Giles van der Tiele always seemed to be snubbing Cressida, putting her in her place; yet he could be extremely charming when he liked - too much so for her peace of mind! But she knew she was no competition for the sophisticated widow Monique de Vries, who clearly found Giles charming, too... This Neels story involves a rich, good-looking Dutch Doctor, Giles, and a good-looking British Nurse, Cressida, who is determined to believe the worse in all things involving him while continually jumping to wrong conclusions. Not as enjoyable as her stories involving plain heroines, but a story sure to please Neel's fans. Friso & Harriet Eijsinck from "Tempestuous April" (formerly "Nurse Harriet Goes to Holland") appear; they are friends of Giles.
