As far as bad boy Spike Moriarty was concerned, Madeline Maguire defined female perfection. When they'd met, she'd walked up as if she wasn't the most gorgeous thing on the planet and asked to see his... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I really enjoyed this next installment of the Moorhouse Legacy. Spike is awesome!! He reminds me of some twins we all know from Jessica Bird's alter ego J.R. Ward

Madeline Maguire has pretty much given up on love after being betrayed not once, but twice, however this hasn't stopped her fascination with Spike Moriarity. Spike thinks about Mad all the time and would love to have a chance with her. However, with the secrets in his past, he doesn't believe he is worthy of her. Now he's agreed to accompany her to a family gathering in order to protect her from her less than kind siblings. As they spend more and more time together, their feeling deepen into love. Can this new love survive the secrets of his past and the machinations of Mad's family? Ripe with emotion, passion and family drama, A Man In A Million pulled me into Mad and Spike's life and kept me wanting their much deserved happiness to finally come! A Man In A Million left me anxiously hoping that Ms. Bird intends to write more stories for the other characters in this book. It doesn't matter if Jessica Bird is writing contemporary romance or paranormal romance under her alias J.R. Ward, each and every book explodes with her awesome story telling talent. Great writing, great story, lousy title

I'm not normally a big fan of Silhouette books, but there's no question that I'll be seeking out more books by Jessica Bird. This book was impossible to put down. The writing was exceptional -- far better than the typical romance novel. The dialogue was sharp and so witty at times that I laughed out loud. The storyline is plausible, and the characters have depth and are instantly likeable. Unlike so many romance novels, the heroine in this story isn't a fragile wisp of a woman that needs to be rescued by the big, strong, ultra-masculine hero. Madeline is a tall, fiercely independent, athletic, muscular woman. It's a romance novel with intelligence, and I savored every minute of it!

I'll admit to not being a huge fan of SSE books in general, but this one was simply fantastic. Spike is a man whose ugly past has him believing that he hasn't got a chance with a beautiful woman like Mad. And Mad's got a miserable track record with men that has her believing that sexy, confident Spike could never be interested in her. But after a rough start Mad and Spike learn to talk and trust one another. The two work wonderfully together and their mutual attraction is so powerful it grips you from the first page and doesn't let go. I found the two characters interesting, believable, and well worth following on their journey to love.
