50 all-new easy recipes for great, guy-friendly food from the authors of A Man, A Can, A Plan When award-winning cookbook author and editor David Joachim introduced the A Man, a Can series in 2002 with A Man, a Can, a Plan, readers and reviewers alike were quick to embrace the winning premise: quick, tasty, healthful meals based on canned and other convenience foods. "This cookbook makes meals guys would love," raved the Philadelphia Daily News. "A foolproof, not to mention spill-proof, guide to manly success in the kitchen," exclaimed the Sunday Star-Ledger. Now David Joachim is back with 50 new tempting recipes for hungry guys everywhere--hearty, healthy fare such as Chili Empanadas, Noodlicious Ramen Salad, Cheez-It Crusted Chicken, Pesto Salmon Pitas, and more. With step-by-step instructions and full-color photographs, even the most culinarily challenged dudes can whip up dishes that will have diners eager for more.
A MUCH Better Book Than Number One, But Not as Simple

I am guessing that, given the reaction to some of the more questionable entries in the first book, David Joachim stayed with his original premise and made some welcome corrections. Keeping the solid construction of the first book, a real "plus," these recipies look better and use a broader variety of ingredients in a slight departure from the stated goal of the original work. This book is not nearly as easy as the first one, however. Some of these recipies will take some time, although I am pleased to say that the ingredients, for the most part, remain practical, sensible, and inexpensive. While it remains a perfect book for a college student, kitchen amateur, or someone who is always in a rush, it will require, generally, a little more practice and knowledge to make the dishes turn out as well as they should. But what a great and fun way to learn! A very nice job overall. I recommend it, especially for the people I just described. But, if, again, you are a gourmand, "foodie," or a nit-picky eater, I would definitely look elsewhere!

I got this book kind of as a gag gift for my boyfriend who can't cook. After receiving the book in the mail, I looked through it, and most of the recipes looked pretty darn eatable! My boyfriend got a kick out of the book, and plans on trying out many of the recipes! Who knows, I may get him another one for his birthday...

I was familiar with the series in the Men's Health magazine so when my brother in law decided to learn how to cook , I knew it would be perfect for him. It has easy to follow instructions and the food is much healthier than regularly eating out!

Great book for my 29 year old son-recently divorced and not a clue how to cook. Good and durable hardcover with cardboard pages you can wipe clean! Photos of the actual cans of stuff you need to buy to cook-most with only 4 ingredients. I may get one for my husband now!
Offbeat but highly useful!

This neat little cookbook has some fifty quick and easy recipes that can be prepared using nothing but a microwave oven and a few ingredients. The recipes are organized into eight categories: beef, chicken, pork, fish, noodles, beans, veggies, and fruit. During a recent heat wave, my wife and I were redoing our menu, searching for meals that would require a minimum of baking and boiling, and as such keep from heating up the house. Well, this book came as something of a godsend! The recipes are all easy to make, use the microwave oven, and taste great. Yeah, I know, how can something cooked entirely in a microwave taste great? Well, take my word for it, these meals succeed! So far, we have tried the Red Bull Steak, the Chicken and Dumplings, and the Peach-Bluenana Smoothie, and loved them all. We highly recommend this offbeat but highly useful cookbook to everyone!
