I may not have read a lot of prayer books, but I learned so much from this one! You can download a study guide from Moody's website to go with it. I experienced God all along the way :)

Once again, Dr. Thrasher uses the Word of God to help and encourage those struggling with their personal prayer life. He uses practical applications to help the reader see how God is working in their life, even through tough times.

This will transform your prayer life

How many books on prayer have you read and then, as a result, either felt guilty that you didn't pray more, or felt inspired to make legalistic resolutions you didn't keep, such as, "I'm going to pray two hours a day for the rest of my life." This is not one of those books. Bill Thrasher invites you in very compelling and helpful ways to join him in praying more effectively by applying Scripture in and to your prayer life. You will gain new perspectives, much joy and begin to see fruit from your prayer life, not because you are responding to guilt or keeping a resolution, but because you are relating to our Lord in the ways He intended. This book is a future classic. I've already bought several extras and passed them on to others. Incidently, at this writing, there is a companion study guide available to print free from the internet that you may find helpful to use with this book.

The best book on prayer I have read

Having been a Christian for many years I can honestly say I was unhappy with my prayer life until I read this book. There have been several books that I have read on prayer and all of them were good. However, I found this to be the best since it was both practical and nourshing at the same time. Clearly, Dr. Thrasher has lived what he wrote about. It is exhibited in a deep understanding of prayer that is both personal and biblical at the same time. Besides being an excellent read I have used it time and time again as a reference book to turn to when I need to learn again how to turn a particular situation into an opportunity for genuine prayer. I recommend it to anyone who desires to grow in their prayer life.

I know Dr. Bill Thrasher to be a man of impeccable character. Even more, I know him to be a man that walks and talks with his Heavenly Father. That's why this book is so helpful for those of us that want to see our prayer lives invigorated. Bill Thrasher brings his readers the dual blessing of a commitment to sound biblical teaching and vibrant personal experiences with God in prayer. The author will guide you through several "helps" in prayer, each a gracious provision of God to assist His children in communicating with Him. A section on the help of fasting is included--a rare topic among contemporary western Christians. I highly recommend this book for any follower of Christ that is looking to strengthen his or her pursuit of Him in prayer!
