I have enjoy Jon's teaching style. He is always pointing to Jesus as the reason for our hope, inspite of all the confusing, hard, somtimes horrific trials we go through here. He doesn't come from a simplistic, 'smile God loves you' christianese place. He writes from the heart of a man who has experienced grief, anger and doubt, coming to the place of excepting and receiving the "peace that passes understanding" and trusting in the truth and promises of God's word. Jon's teaching style has taught me to see how God's word applies in every situation, big and small. In my everyday life, the small picky things seem to get to me the most. So applying God's word and truth in the small things, builds me up to face whatever may come. Life is hard, but God is the steadfast, faithful one, coming alongside me through it all. I have given this book to so many people. It is easy to read, short chapters packed with truth and life. The last chapter is Jon's personal journey of grief. I appriciate his being willing to share this with the reader. We must always hold out the hope to a world that is hopeless. Thanks Jon!
