Jimmy Awagl, holds a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Goroka. He is the vice president of Simbu Writer's Association and comes from the Sikaku Tribe of Yongomugl area in the Simbu Province of Papua New Guinea. His prolific energy in writing has resulted in authoring two books: 'My Struggle & My Journey' respectively. This third book is a collection of Jimmy's 100 poems depicting the social life of modern Papua New Guineans. Most of the themes depict the contemporary issues experienced by the younger generations. As an educationist, he recommends this poetry book to be used both formerly and informally for pleasure and education.
