You may have noticed that when you typed in the isbn for this book, you got a print listing for 6.6 and a cover illustration for 4:31. Don't fear: it's the same collection of color photos, articles and graphics by the staff of the LA Times. When the earthquake first hit in 1994, it was reported as a 6.6 on the Richter scale -- a natural title. Then, after the Times hurried to bring the book out, the Richter count was raised to 6.7. Trust a journalist to worry about that kind of accuracy, and that's why the title was changed to the time in the morning when the quake struck.
