Great, poor price

Terrific condition, probably why the book was in such a price range. It was used but super new condition. I bought for 19.95, found one for free (same book) so was returned. Very fast shipping and affirmative refund on 50 Essays. Useful book in general, great content.

I enjoyed the book. It was a terrific way to gain insight on the writing styles of some of America's most noted writers. I would recommend it to any student or person who wants to gain literary knowledge and become familiar with 20th century American authors.

Wonderful book

Although I bought it for school it has alot of very interesting and mind opening essays. Overall its a great book and I enjoyed reading it.

English Teacher's Paradise

Unfortunately, the textbook that I use in my high school English classes does not offer an interesting, age apporpriate selection of nonfiction pieces. I purchased this book to help compensate for the lack of interesting essays in our textbook and was delighted to find that this anthology is organized with teachers in mind. Essays are organized by themes, a list of essays to compare/contrast is provided for convenience, and critical thinking and essay questions are provided at the end of each essay.
