4th Sunday explores Beatrice's increasing insight into the essence of love, faithfulness, family - and faith. In the process, she comes to value her daughter Beany's unsettling gifts and her son Alex's quest to be a man. She learns to forgive those closest to her who have committed acts of betrayal. Equipped with these lessons, she is able to forgive herself.
Throughout 4th Sunday, Beatrice mentions a book of poetry that speaks to her heart and soul. That book, Black Frames, appears after Beatrice's story in this volume.
