excellent resource

If you love to quilt and love to sew you'll love this book. The instructions are clear and detailed and the designs are attractive and useful. I especially appreciated the "extra" features, she shows fabric themes, country, romantic, etc. There is a wealth of information on quilting and sewing techniques, as well. She doesn't just assume you know how to make a variety of straps, she shows you. She demonstrates the insertion of zippers. The book is a treasure trove of ideas, suggestions, alternatives and techniques. It's very inspiring.

great ideas for small projects

Book was what I was looking for, lots of good ideas without a lot of special purchases to complete. Great for stash usage.

More creative than most bag books

After purchasing a couple of real stinkers when it comes to 'bag' books, I committed to checking out any book I would consider purchasing from the library first. This is one of the very few that I actually went out and plunked down good money for after checking it out first. The book has several quite creative patterns. I especially like the backpack pattern, the double bottle bag, and the quilter's briefcase. I adapted the quilter's briefcase to be an artist's brief, with room for drawing pads, pencils, etc. The instructions are clear and well written, and the sections on materials, techniques, etc. would be great for even the most beginning of sewers to keep on hand for reference. All in all, a lovely little book, worth the purchase price.
