A lot packed into a 6”x5” book

This is one of those books that packs a lot into a small package. The author has placed an average of four quilt block patterns per page. She does give you the basic shapes to cut out, however; you need to add 1/4 per side for sewing as that is omitted on the shapes. The table of contents; How to use this book, this section is a must read. She covers four, five, seven, nine patch, mosaic's, strips, pictorial, plants and animals, stars, curves, letters and numbers. I’m a beginner with quilting, but find the book easy to follow and use. If you like stars this could be a book for you.

Lots of great ideas for both the beginner and the expert. I am starting to give them as gifts to other quilters.

A MUST HAVE!

I checked this book out from my library and loved it so much that I bought a copy. Has 1000 block patterns AND their deminsions. Does all the work for you. Not too many pictures of whole quilts, mostly a pattern book. Awesome for beginning quilters like me.

This is a wonderful book. A lot of different patterns shown with a pictorial of how to make the block. It can be used as a quide on how to make patterns for blocks that are not in the book. I just love this book.

Excellent Quilter's Resource

1000 Great Quilt Blocks is the quilting book I've been looking for. Yes, it assumes you have some piecing knowledge, however it covers everything from four patch to letters and numbers. In particular I like the swan block and Indian trails block. I really appreciate its (relatively) small size, and the easy manner in which it is laid out. I know I will refer to this one again and again.
