This is the perfect book for both new and experienced cooks alike. It would be a wonderful choice for a gift for a new bride. The best part about this cookbook is the fact that it has a colored picture for every single recipe! A good picture of what the finished recipe should actually look like is always an important feature for a cook. These pictures in this book are also put together very attractively. They are all different, and feature a wide variety of beautiful plates and backgrounds. The editor did an excellent job of collecting these recipes. There is something here for everyone. The basics that we all need for every-day cooking are well covered. But, fun and fancy recipes for entertaining are included as well. A wide variety of subjects are covered, including the usual categories one would expect to find in a cookbook, but there are also some interesting ones like: Low Fat Baking and Basic Recipes, also with pictures of how to do these things. The book itself is large and easy to handle. It lays open on the counter nicely, so a cook does not have to wrestle with it to use it. The print in the recipes is large and easy to follow. Ideas and tips are also included as extra help with serving suggestions. The directions are well organized and include attention to detail, so nothing is left to guess about. If someone made a recipe from this book and took it with them to an occasion, it would be easy to photocopy the recipe to share with those who would be eating the recipe, so they would know what was in it, and they could then try the recipe also, and they would have one of the nice accompanying pictures as well. A person could get a lot of good use out of this book. It is also a very sturdy book, so it could be handed down through families for many generations to come. I have recommended this book to all of the people that I love and care about in my life, and I hope that you will love it as much as I do.
